Tsunami

Here are some videos of the tsunami that hit Japan last week. They have nothing to with computer graphics, but I thought it was important for you to see the damage that it caused. Japan is in a real crisis, they were first hit by one of the most powerful earthquakes ever recorded, which caused a tsunami. And now as a result of the earthquake and tsunami several nuclear power plants are in danger.

More Pictures

Yesterday we discussed how it is important for you to look at things critically and to not simply accept that a photo or a video is real. Here are some more pictures for you to consider. Click on the link below.

March 3 - Computer Threats

All classes will start their last PowerPoint assignment today. This lesson deals with different types of computer threats, specifically, viruses, trojans, worms, spyware and phishing. Listen carefully for directions because Im changing the assignment from what is on the computer lessons web page. We will finish this Tuesday and start working with pictures and graphics on Wednesday. Remember if you do not finish an assignment I will allow you to work on it during typing skills. If you feel that you are falling too far behind, talk to me about a time before or after school when you can catch up or bring a flash drive and you may take your assignment home to complete.

Have a great 3 day weekend :)

March 1

6th and 7th grade classes will continue to work on their DDay PowerPoint assignments. My goal is to have everyone almost finished by the end of the class on Wednesday, then begin work on our last PowerPoint on Computer Threats.

8th graders will continue to work on their Ancient Greece PowerPoint assignments. I would like for everyone to finish today or Wednesday, and possibly start the Computer Threats assignment Wednesday or Thursday.
